Annual leaves are something that all of us can never have enough. There may be just so many places you have always wanted to go, but those few days of paid vacation may seem far too little.
We have done some homework and showed how you can have 9 awesome long weekends! The trick here is that you will need to take an additional day off during Hari Raya to make that weekend into a long stretch of holiday. We are sure your boss would not mind you taking that one day, would he?
There are 8 official long weekends in 2016, but by just taking that 1 day off on July 8, you can have an extended Hari Raya weekend (Hari Raya is to fall on Wednesday & Thursday – July 6 & 7, subject to change), thus making it 9 long weekends!
The 8 official long weekends are as follow:
Feb 6 to 9 (Saturday to Tuesday): Chinese New Year
Apr 30 to May 2 (Saturday to Monday): Labour Day
Sept 10 to 12 (Saturday to Monday): Hari Raya Haji
Sept 16 to 18 (Friday to Sunday): Malaysia Day
Oct 1 to 3 (Saturday to Monday): Awal Muharram
Oct 29 to 31 (Saturday to Monday): Deepavali
Dec 10 to 12 (Saturday to Monday): Prophet Muhammad’s Birthday
Dec 24 to 26 (Saturday to Monday): Christmas Day
And these are only the national public holidays. Because you can also enjoy state holidays, if you’re working in Kedah, you can have up to an additional 3 more long weekends! For those working in other states including Wilayah Persekutuan, it’s another 1-2 more long weekends only..
After you’ve got the dates sorted out, take a look at some of the destinations we have for ideas on where to go! Maybe it will help you decide sooner and lock in the deals before everyone else!

Please take note that the following national holidays are subjected to change: Hari Raya Puasa, Hari Raya Haji and Deepavali.
