Deferment of Travel Due to Floods in Chennai

In view of worsening flood situation in Chennai, Malaysia Airlines is giving the following is the waiver authority for all affected passengers travelling to/from Chennai between 01 and 14 December 2015.

Travellers on the affected flights have the following options:

Passenger originally booked Kuala Lumpur – Chennai or Chennai – Kuala Lumpur may choose to travel via Bangalore or Hyderabad . However from Bangalore/Hyderabad, will be on traveller’s own arrangement. The rerouting is subject to fare difference (if any) and change fees waived.

 

Refundable tickets

a. One free change permitted to defer travel date up to one month (1) later from original date of travel with penalty fee waived. Subject to seat availability on the same fare class.

b. Refunds- full refund permitted with penalty waived tickets for refund must be submitted within one (1) week from the date of cancellation.

Non-Refundable / Restrictive Tickets

a. One free change allowed to defer travel date up to one (1) month dated from original date of travel with penalty fee waived. Subject to seat availability on the same fare class

b. Refunds- not permitted but Malaysia Airlines allows ticket to be converted into MCO for further transportation, only with validity period of three (3) months from MCO date of issue.

Important Notes:

i. Tickets must be submitted for MCO issuance within one (1) week from date of cancellation.

ii. Extension of validity not permitted.
